Born and raised a Jersey Girl, Dawn grew up in the shadow of ‘the city’ not far from the bright lights of Broadway where her many trips to the theatre district sparked her love of acting and entertaining.  Playing and singing music since the fourth grade, Dawn participated in band and choir through her high school years, including a role as Cousin Hebe in Gilbert & Sullivan’s HMS Pinafore. 

After many years in corporate jobs, making a living like everyone else, Dawn announced to the world she would be an actor and she hasn't looked back since!

In Charlotte, NC, Dawn entered community theatre starting small with the role of  Mr. Potter’s Secretary in “It’s a Wonderful Life”, which lead to one of her favorite roles: Mollie Ralston in Agatha Christie’s, “The Mousetrap”.  Wanting more, Dawn joined a local acting networking group, which led to roles in ‘Second City TV’-like sketches aired on local cable television with Manic Television Workshop,   She also hosted an infomercial and was cast in a local television commercial.  In NC, Dawn studied voiceover with Wayne Powers, the longtime voice of “if it tastes like Smuckers, it has to be good.” and acting with Jordan Beswick, CSA.

Upon moving to Florida, Dawn immediately became involved with the FABActor group where she began networking with her new ‘tribe’.  Seemingly coming full circle, Dawn’s first Florida stage role was as part of the cast of Gilbert & Sullivan’s ‘The Mikado’.  Dawn lends her talent to the students at Full Sail Film School and the University of Central Florida, as well as participating as a volunteer and actor for Orlando’s 48-hour Film Project.  Darkbrain.com, an online comic, employs Dawn's voice as a female pirate, Ariana and Valouria, in 'The Vat' as well as Pam in 'Mirror, Mirror' . Dawn is a SAG Eligble actor who, since coming to Florida, has studied with Ken and Valerie Grant of KVG Acting Studios,  Yvonne Suhor and Lauren O'Quinn through Arts-Sake Acting Studio and actor, Rus Blackwell (http://rusblackwell.com/)

Juan at the Mac Cosmetics Pro Shop, Mall at Millenia, is an innovative and creative makeup artist. He is able to push the limits and think out of the box for cosmetics looks. Although he confessed having had no formal training, he is also good at special effects makeup. As an airbrusher, Juan creates flawless complexions. His techniques are intriguing, and it is fun to watch him in action.

Review: Hamburger Mary's

Hamburger Mary's is a flamboyantly fun atmosphere. During the day, the crowd is tame. Service is generally the most excellent; however, there is one server (not the one above - he was amazing) who has gotten the order wrong on four occasions. He did not listen to the order, rolled his eyes, brought the wrong thing, accused the patron of having placing that order, then used his bare hands to sift through the food. He then left the food on the table "in case she changed her mind" despite her telling him several times that she is allergic to the items on the hamburger.

Aside from that, keep kids out of bingo night as it gets pretty "lively" and graphic. Leigh Shannon's Illusions show is full of guest female impersonators. The songs are a bit outdated, but the entertainment is divine. Check their website for special events and ask about the train shots.

Review: The Beauty Spot

In 2007, The Beauty Spot was selling coupon packages for the holiday season. The packages included four services. All four services were scheduled. The massage therapist was decent - not strong enough for the reviewer's preference. The nail tech was amazing. She was very good at massaging the foot, and, in speaking with her, she mentioned she is an artist. The facial and peel were also decent. Although the microdermabrasion treatment was scheduled, the salon failed to notify the reviewer that their establishment was closed. The reviewer arrived to the location only to see the above sign. Failure to notify clients of unforeseen closures is unprofessional, and the last treatment for which was prepaid was forfeited through no fault of the client.
